Fábrica Conceito presents technological innovation and sustainability

Real-time production at Fimec will highlight model for export and knit sneakers

Focused on presenting solutions that boost the Brazilian industry also for the export market, Fábrica Conceito reaches its 12th edition presenting the production of shoes in real time, highlighting an export-type model and another in knit material, with direct injection in PU. The Factory (Fábrica Conceito) will also focus on two fundamental issues for the footwear industries - environmental sustainability and solutions for the transformation of the sector's industrial parks to the concept of Industry 4.0.

Held by Fenac Experiências Conectam (Fenac’s Experiences that Connect), the Brazilian Institute of Technology for Leather, Footwear and Artifacts (IBTeC) and Coelho Assessoria Empresarial, the factory is a unique project in the world, its purpose is to present footwear manufacturers who visit the fair with solutions for the manufacturing of footwear and artifacts. Through this project, the visiting public can verify in real time the footwear production process with products and technologies from the exhibitors present at the fair. We are experiencing a unique moment, in the Latin American market and in the domestic market, with the greatest demand for footwear products which we haven’t had in long time.  This reality makes Brazilian manufacturers seek greater productivity and better processes, to offer more quality in their products, in this sense, it has never been so important to seek improvements in production processes”, highlights the CEO of Fenac, Marcio Jung.

In the 2022 edition, the project will have the partnership of two giants in the sector - Calçados Arezzo and Paquetá Calçados. “There will be four production lines – two from Arezzo, one from Paquetá and one operated by the students of SENAI (National Service for Industrial Training) footwear technical course”, highlights the technical coordinator of the IBTeC, Paulo Model, who is responsible for the entire operational part of the project. The operation will have the participation of 70 companies, including footwear brands, suppliers of machinery, equipment, components, raw materials and technological solutions exhibitors at the fair. Around 110 workers (including 60 students from SENAI Calçado) will be responsible for producing 2,200 pairs of shoes over the three days of the fair.

The director of Coelho Assessoria Empresarial, Luís José Coelho, highlights the strength of Fimec at a time like the one we are facing. “We are at a time when the footwear market is starting to heat up strongly, as a result of the gradual recovery of the economy, the replenishment of stores in the domestic market that were out of stock, and the return of many importers, notably from the American market. In this sense, Fimec returns full throttle, showing, through Fábrica Conceito, the most modern, sustainable and innovative products we have in the footwear sector”. A point also addressed by the executive president of IBTeC, Paulo Griebeler. “It was with this in mind that we introduced a footwear model entirely aimed at the foreign market in the project. It will be an opportunity for footwear manufacturers who visit the fair to prospect technologies and processes to implement in their own production lines”, he emphasizes.

Market giants are part of the production

Arezzo and Paquetá are the brands that will produce shoes at Fábrica Conceito. Besides that, there will be a production line with students from the technical course to train young people to work in the footwear industries at Escola SENAI. With the coordination of the technical course professors, students will produce a model of closed toe female shoes with wedge heels.

In one of Arezzo's lines, a model of women's casual sneakers will be produced and in the second one, a model of men's sneakers, built with state-of-the-art technologies. For the first time in Fábrica Conceito's history, there will be a production line for women's sneakers in knit material with direct injection. The men's tennis line, also in knit material, will be assembled using the string technique. In addition to the focus on technological improvements, sustainability will also be highlighted through the Paquetá brand pumps - which make up the company's export schedule - all designed to serve the international market. Manufactured in English sizes from 6 to 10, the shoe will be produced in the international shoe size system, with half sizes, to suit different measures of feet in terms of its length. The product is manufactured with sustainable materials. The upper is made of chrome-free leather. The mounting insole is made with industrial waste compost plus hard cardboard. The heel, on the other hand, is injected with recycled material and the sole is made from rubber, with inputs from renewable sources.
